Bricklayer nabbed over labourer’s death.

police in Lagos have arrested a
bricklayer for allegedly killing a labourer with a
shovel.
It was gathered that the incident occurred at
9am on May 7 at Sango-Tedo, along the Epe/
Lekki expressway, Ogombo, Lagos.
It was gathered that the suspect, Alaba Jona,
and the deceased, Segun Peters, were working
together at the site.
While Jona was the bricklayer in charge of the
building under construction, late Peters was
mixing sand, cement and gravel.
Vanguard learnt that at 10am, Peters said he
was tired and wanted to rest. This did not go
down well with Jona.
He allegedly collected the shovel from late
Peters and hit him in the stomach with it.
A police source told Vanguard: "Peters' stomach
ripped open and he slumped. He died before
help could come."
The remains of Peters have been deposited at a
morgue on the Island by the police, while Jona
had been transferred to the homicide section of
the State Criminal Investigations Department,
SCID, Panti, Yaba.
