Two Security Men Killed In Kaduna Robbery Attack

Two private security men were on Saturday
killed in a robbery attack that lasted half an hour
at a major fish depot along Zaria Road off Lagos
Street in the Kaduna metropolis.
An eyewitness who pleaded anonymity said the
robbers came in a Volkswagen Golf car, and
went straight to the CIC Fishing Depot where
they shot sporadically to scare away residents
and those that were at the fish depot.
A private security man who attempted to shut
the gate against the robbers was shot dead on
the spot while his colleague was also shot in an
attempt to call the police with his cell phone,
and later died.
The robbers, it was learnt, carted away an
unspecified amount of money from the sales
department and zoomed off towards the Kaduna
western part of the state.
Men of the State security outfit, Operation Yaki,
that arrived later, went after the robbers who
fled as they heard police siren.
Public Relations Officer of the Kaduna State
Police Command, Aminu Lawan, (DSP) who
confirmed the incident said the command had
already launched a manhunt for the robbers,
while investigation was ongoing.
