The incident took place around 2am on Mutiatu Street in
Ikotun, Lagos State.
The victim, Tivere, had travelled to Lagos from
Delta State to participate in the midnight
programme. At 2am, she left for her lodgings when

him, and he exchanged phone numbers with her

But after being freed from him, the victim
approached some policemen she saw at a junction
and narrated her ordeal to them. The policemen
plotted with Tivere to call Ochukwo to see her off
to the park where she would board a bus back to
Sapele.

The unsuspecting Ochukwo came out to see off his
"sweet lover", only to be arrested by the police.

He was arraigned before an Ebute Meta Magistrate's
Court, Lagos, on 2-counts of rape. Ochuko pleaded
not guilty to the charge and elected summary trial.

Magistrate Ms Badejo-Okusanya granted him bail in
N50,000 and adjourned the case till March 4, 2014.
