The Deputy Speaker of the House of
Representatives, Mr Emeka Ihedioha, on
Wednesday in Abuja called on Nigerians to
remain steadfast and committed to the task of
nation-building.
Ihedioha, who was speaking as Nigeria marked
this year's Democracy Day, commended
Nigerians for their patience and resilience in
preserving the unity and integrity of the nation.
In a statement signed by his Chief Press
Secretary, Mr Oke Epia, the Deputy Speaker said
that Nigerians had continually been tasked to
make sacrifices for the country, adding that they
had been so responsive and understanding.
"They (citizens) deserve commendation and
encouragement from leaders and those in
authority," the statement said.
Ihedioha urged leaders to double their effort in
delivering good life to the people and to leave
legacies, which generations to come would be
proud of.
He called for all hands to be on deck to move the
country forward at all times.
