The Rivers State Police Command
says it has recovered over 100 arms
from robbers in the State within the
last 3 months - Commissioner of Police
Joseph Mbu who was briefing newsmen on
the activities of the Police said, the Police
have done much to reduce the crime rate.
Meanwhile, the Rivers State Police Command has
paraded four people suspected to be sea pirates.
Commissioner of Police, Joseph Mbu who paraded
the suspects at the police headquarters also
displayed cash seized from the suspects. CP Mbu
told newsmen that the suspects robbed a ship of
N30million along the Bayelsa and Bonny High Sea.
The State police command also arrested two
persons with a General Multiple Purpose Gun along
Kaduna Fly Over in Port Harcourt. The police boss
said the suspects are leading the police to recover
50 AK 47 Riffles at Chokocho in Igbo Etche.
The police also paraded a suspected car snatcher
whose action resulted to the accident that led to the
death of a police team involved in chasing them
along Aba road.
It would be recalled the Mbu Joseph Mbu resumed
as Commissioner of Police in the State in February
2013.
