Another plane crash averted in Kaduna

Another plane crash was averted today in Kaduna; an IRS Airline plane reportedly had a landing hitch . 89 passengers disembarked from the plane right on the runway.
IRS managing director, Yemi Dada, said the pilots of flight 3390 with 89 passengers onboard received a low hydraulic warning minutes before landing.
An hydraulic warning , he explained means there is a problem with landing gear, nosewheel steering, brakes, cargo doors, thrust reversers or both primary and secondary flight controls.
“On final approach to Kaduna today on our flight 3390 with 89 passengers, our cockpit crew got a low hydraulic in system 1 warning and decided to take precautionary measures to ask for ground confirmation that all gears were down and locked,” he said.
Dada said the aircraft landed normally after the control tower had confirmed that the gears were all down normally.
“The crew proceeded to land but followed procedure to disembark on the runway and not taxi in accordance with the procedure,” Dada said.
All passengers disembarked normally and the aircraft was towed to ramp.
“The maintenance crew are inspecting to confirm the issue that caused the warning to the crew,” he said.

Underneath the picture is a comment from him, which says, ‘am I der yet?’ (sic). This was accompanied by a hash tag and the word ‘alcohol.’

In the second picture, a visibly intoxicated Peter, holds the same glass to the camera with the comment, ‘blame it’ after a hash tag accompanied by the word, ‘alcohol.’

Not too long ago, actress, Tonto Dikeh was alleged to have posted a picture promoting marijuana on her Instagram page.

A woman approached actress Yvonne Jegede on her way to get groceries in Ajao Estate recently, saying how she is a big fan of her movies. The woman later cried and pleaded for assistance; she said she and her children had been living in a church, and barely had food to eat. Yvonne followed her to where her children were and after seeing their condition decided to help her. Governor Fashola intervenes to save Pa Kasumu

Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola has intervened to save ailing actor, Pa Kasumu who is suffering a heart and kidney complication.

The news was confirmed by Pa Kasumu’s son, Tunde Odumosu who said ‘Governor Fashola is a very proactive governor. Just when we were still trying to send letters out and raise funds from different sources, he intervened and has asked that my father be taken for a new test. We are really grateful to the God, the Governor and to Nigerians’

Odumosu says it is unclear how much involved the governor wants to get, but the family is hopeful that he will go all the way. ‘Although he (Governor Fashola) hasn’t really declared a figure, we are hopeful that since God has touched him to ask my father to undergo a test, he will fully intervene.’
Pa Kasumu needs N12million to treat a health situation that has compromised his heart and liver.

Gospel artiste, Caroline Sam known as Maheeda, has been the topic of discussion on the blogosphere in recent times, all of which revolve around the raunchy photos she shares on her social media pages.

In a recent interview with Bellanaija talked about her married life, her daughter and her relationship with other artistes.

Will you be collaborating with any musicians in the near future?

Hopefully, I will be collaborating with a few musicians in the near future. I am currently begging a lot of them now. Since they have now passed my level, I want them to pull me up to theirs but them never answer me yet. Let’s see how the Nigerian music industry supports their own. At the end of the day though, if they don’t support me, I guess it’s just between me and my God then. And, my God is one who makes a way where it seems to be no way.

Who does Maheeda find sexy?

I think that Clarence Peters and Don Jazzy are really hot. I like the kind of guy that talks less but does more. If you apply that in bed, hmmm, it’s really sexy. I love surprises, in and out of bed. I want to be ‘wow’-ed. I want the guy to make me wander (laughs)

How would you feel if your daughter started putting up semi-nude photos on her own Instagram page?

My daughter is thirteen years old and well- trained. Schools in Europe teach sex education. They teach them what to do as a teenager and they also teach them what not to do. At home as well, I put more light into what the school has taught her. My daughter knows her limits and I am a happy mum. Some pastors’ kids end up always being in clubs and it’s by their choice. One thing I’ll just say is that children will make choices. We, as parents, can only pray that they make good ones.

How has married life been?

Married life is like another school. I am learning how to love, how to forgive; how to share, how to care for and make love to someone who is imperfect, knowing fully well that you are not perfect yourself. I’m learning a lot. I’m also learning self control, forgiveness and faithfulness. It’s a big learning time for me. I just want to say that I thank God for my husband. He is my superman.

Since you got married last year, you’ve moved to Holland with your family. How has it been living there and what do you miss most about Nigeria?

Life in Holland is great. Apart from marrying a millionaire, the government has really made life easy for us here. So, honestly, I can say that I miss nothing about living back in Nigeria.

Harrysong Lands In Big Trouble With Asa's Former Label, QMark Records

Harrysong may have found himself in a big trouble if information making the rounds is anything to go by. The handsome and RnB artiste may have also eaten ofada rice with the 'devil' with a short spoon without having 'the necessary weapons in his hands' to guard against the consequence it might bring.

Asa's former label, QuestionMark Records, also known as Qmark, has threatened to "use all lawful means at our disposal for redress", following a deal he reportedly signed with another record label, Five Star Music, in which KCee is signed unto.

In a statement released by QMark, the label claimed Harrysong is still contracted to them and that any deal signed by the artiste with other label is illegal.

Harrysong song signed a deal with the new label in 2013 and his estranged label is not happy about it. Five Star Music was warned by QMark to be ready for a legal battle with it.

QMark is owned by Kelvin Lucianno. He and Asa parted ways in a controversial manner some years ago. It was then speculated that Asa was allegedly treated like a slave while with Kelvin, which reportedly spurned her then hit track, 'Jailer' believed to have been sung to express the situation between her and Kelvin.

Ini Edo Pregnant Or Not?

The actress and her husband, Philip Ehiagwina tied the knot in November 2008 with no child yet.

Ini had earlier denied pregnancy rumours on her twitter page ‘I know you wish me well, but I would really appreciate if I am not misquoted and people would not make insinuations about my private life’.

Funke Akindele uploaded the Instagram picture of herself, Mercy Johnson-Okogie and Ini Edo-Ehiagwina when Ini stopped to check on them (Funke and Mercy) on the set of a new movie, the picture has surfaced showing Ini Edo-Ehiagwina’s big tummy.

SEGUN ADEBAYO recently caught up with Olamide where he opened up on his career and how he plans to remain relevant. Read Excerpts After The Cut...............

What has been happening to Olamide?
A lot of good things have been happening to me and my crew. I have been doing what I love doing and I am getting paid for it. That ordinarily comes with a good feeling, I can’t deny that. I have a lot of things that I am working on right now and we are working day and night to meet up with the demands of the industry. Which is staying on top of your game while you can, having in mind that the phase will soon pass. You have to make sure that you make your stay worth the while.

Is this why you have featured in different singles more than any other artiste lately and what are you trying to achieve with this?
You know people are very funny. When I was not featuring in other people’s albums or singles, they were the ones saying on twitter and other social media platforms that Olamide is proud, he’s not friendly and all sorts of things that you can’t imagine. But now that I have been working with a whole lot of artistes in the industry, they have come out to say I should give myself a break. I wonder what the people really want? The truth is that you can’t live your life for the people. You have to do what you feel is right for you to keep your career on the right track.

So, you don’t care about what people say about you anymore?
I didn’t mean it like that. What I am trying to say is that if you continue to listen to what people say every time before making your decision, you may not make the right decision at the end of the day and you may also make the right decision. What is important is your attitude to what you do. It does not mean you won’t listen to them or take to their pieces of advice, you just have to be truthful to yourself and make sure you are doing what you believe is in the best interest of your career. I just want to remain on top of my game. I know I have what it takes to run the show for as long as God permits me. But time will tell. I am growing by the day and I am enjoying every bit of my moment in the industry.

You once said that your hustling days are over, but you don’t seem to be slowing down. You are always at every major show around town…
I am an ambitious young man. I love to always push myself to the limits. We have a lot of things going on in the industry now that would really make you sit tight and buckle up. Asides that, I have gone through a lot before I could arrive at this level, to God be the glory. When I look at where I was coming from and where I am today, it only reminds me of one thing, never stop dreaming big and don’t ever look down on yourself even if nobody believes in you. You have to make sure you have got what it takes to stand the test of time. Olamide didn’t just arrive over night. It has been a very rough journey, but God has been good to me. The truth is that people have not seen the best of Olamide.

You said one should not look down on his or her self; it seems you have a lot beneath that sentence. Could you share some of those rough experiences with us?
Everybody knows my story or let me say I try to let people know my story with the way I sing so that you won’t come and tell me tomorrow or the people that you did or that for me when I was this or that. When I compose my songs, I always try to bring my rough days into retrospect. I remember how I waited many years for my single to be promoted. I was always told to wait. When I couldn’t wait anymore, I had to look for another way round it. A lot of people turned me down because they didn’t believe in me. I have nothing against them because that’s life for you. Everybody can’t believe in your dream, even if it is the most beautiful one. Today, it is practically difficult for anybody to come out and say what I had already said about myself in most of my songs.

Why did you say that?
You know people are funny. I am sure you are aware of how some people could wake up one day and start saying what is not true about your life. So, in order not to be shocked when you hear or see something like that, you have to prepare your mind and that of your fans. I always sing about the story of my life in my songs so that if you say something about it tomorrow, the people would tell you that they heard me say it before.

Now that your dream has been fulfilled and you can also stand on your own, what’s the feeling like?
I feel great. I feel honoured. I feel so happy. But above all, I thank God, to whom I give all glory.

Are you surprised to have arrived at this level?
To an extent, my rise came as a shock but at the same time, my only wish since I was young was to rise above my peers and make a name for myself in whatever good I find myself doing. I strived hard to come out with something everybody would appreciate, plus the recognition that has marked my career. I will say my rise to stardom has not been a fluke. I have worked tirelessly over the years trying to break into the industry and studying the rules of the game so as to become relevant. You don’t want to know how I waited and prayed to taste fame.

How has music changed your life?
Let me say that music took me away from wandering about the streets to doing the right thing at the right time. It has reshaped my life and taught me that hard work, talent and God’s grace are very important in every man’s life. I can say it boldly that those who never believed in me can now see that I carry a special grace. That is why I will remain grateful to ID Cabassa. He was one of the good people God used to turn my life around. I won’t say more than that because I know you would want to probe me further.

Now that music has taken you away from the streets, what do you miss most about it?
I really didn’t miss anything except for the life on the streets. I never wanted to remain on the streets. I have learnt a lot of lessons my brother, but one thing that readily comes to my mind each time I remember where I was coming from is the fact that the secret of success goes beyond making good music. Every right-thinking artiste must possess a good character to sustain the success that comes his way. You must have the character that could help you sustain the test of time. Trust me; rising to stardom comes with a lot of challenges, but you can only overcome them when you have a good sense of understanding about life itself.

Photos: Man Hacks Off Infected Leg With A Saw Because He Could Not Afford Hospital Bills

A man hacked off his own leg using only a metal saw, a small fruit knife and a back scratcher wrapped with a towel because he couldn’t afford hospital bills.
47-year-old Zheng Yanliang, from Boading city, China, began to experience bouts of pain in his abdomen that traveled to both of his legs. He was diagnosed with massive arterial thrombosis in both legs. As the pain worsened, he decided to remove the infected limb himself using a metal saw, a small fruit knife and a back scratcher wrapped with a towel towel because he couldn’t afford hospital bills.

According to Shanghaiist.com, doctors told Mr Yanliang the disease was very rarely seen, and he wasn’t likely to live more than a month. For three months, Mr Yanliang was tormented by pain to the point of fuzzy consciousness, screaming so loud that his neighbors could not sleep.
‘It was very painful and they gave me medication but it didn’t help. Sometimes the pain was so intense I would pass out, then after three months when it was really bad, they told me that an infection had set in, that I had gangrene, and that I might lose the limb. Ideally I needed it to be operated on, but I could not afford it. They just gave me medication. They sent me home to die.
One night, after his wife had gone to bed, Mr Yanliang found a fruit knife, a metal saw and a towel-wrapped back scratcher and began amputating his own leg. Fortunately, because of the thrombosis, there wasn’t much blood during the amputation.
The operation saved his life, but now the open wound that still shows a stump of bone has led to a fresh infection, this time in his left leg.
His wife suffers diabetes and heart disease. The family’s only financial support comes from their 17-year-old daughter, who dropped out of school to take a job.

Housewife Fakes Her Own kidnapping, Demands N200,000 Ransom From Husband

A housewife has been arrested by the Enugu State Police for planning & staging her own kidnap, then demanding the sum of N200, 000 from her husband Marcus Chukwu as ransom. Her partner, a commercial motorcyclist who was also connected in the staging her kidnap Chikwe Tochukwu has also been arrested. It was gathered that the husband Marcus, a native of Agbogugu in Awgu local Government Area of Enugu State, had received a call from his wife, Nancy Chukwu, claiming that she had been kidnapped by unknown gunmen and that her kidnappers were demanding the sum of two hundred thousand naira. Marcus was thereby given an account number where the said ransom is to be paid, rather than pay the ransom he reported the matter to the anti-kidnap unit of the police. The Enugu State DSP, Ebere Amaraizu, who confirmed stated that investigations conducted revealed that Tochukwu of Amakwe Okeremiri Aboh Mbaise in Imo state, residing at Agbogugu was the brain behind the stage managed kidnap, which was aimed at extorting the woman’s husband. Tochukwu who confessed to the police said he is an okada rider that usually carries the woman, Nancy home anytime she is returning from market, adding that Nancy lured her into the crime. He went on to confess that while he was together with Nancy, sounded like a kidnapper on phone who was already holding Nancy under captivity, and demanded that the sum of two hundred thousand naira be paid as a ransom to the account number provided, which he also claimed belonged to his friend Chikwado. Nancy also confessed to the crime, saying she never knew what came over her to have acted in such manner. “A full scale investigations into the alleged incident has intensified”, Amaraizu further stated.

Honorary Doctorate degree to her gallery after a
South Korean University
honoured her.
It is Mrs. Jonathan's fourth doctorate since
becoming Nigeria's First Lady.
The awarding institution, Hansei University, said
they honoured Mrs.
Jonathan because she had worked"hard for many
good causes."
"She's a humanitarian who has dedicated her life
to working for the less
privileged in Nigeria and Africa especially for
women and
children,"president and Chancellor ofHansei
University, Sung-Hae Kim said.
"Her vision as the defender of the poor in Nigeria
fits into Hansei
University's motto of a practising Christian. Now
she's part of our
community," Prof. Kim added.
The university also said it chose her for the
degree because of her
dedication to prayer.
"I was surprised that she travelled here for the
Church Growth International
conference years back to pray for Nigeria. For
her selfless work, Hansei
University confers this degree on her,"Yonggi
Cho, co-founder of the Hansei
University.
"I was just doing my own thing not knowing that
in far away Asia everything
was being noted. I want to assure you all that
with God's help I will do
more," Mrs. Jonathan said, thanking the
Koreans.

The News Agency of Nigeria reported that the
ceremony was attended by
