Pastor charged over death of teenager after ‘special’ deliverance from witchcraft

The pastor tied two 'witch' teenagers for three
days during the 'deliverance'.
The police in Abuja on Wednesday filed a
criminal suit against Isaiah Okoye, the Chief
Overseer of the Sabbath Church in Dape Village,
Life Camp, Abuja, for alleged culpable homicide.
The police also listed Ngozi Ogbonna, a member
of the church, in the suit.
The suit was filed before Justice Jude Okeke, a
vacation judge in the Abuja High Court.
Mr. Okeke has fixed September 19 for the
arraignment of the suspects.
A copy of the charge sheet showed that the
police filed a two-count charge on alleged
criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide, an
offence contrary to the Penal Code.
The charges, filed by Inspector Tony Akerele,
alleged that Mr. Okoye performed a "special"
deliverance on two teenagers whom he claimed
were witches in his church.
The prosecutor alleged that the accused used
ropes to tie the victims for three days without
feeding them, which caused the death of one of
the victims.
