Kaduna State, Rotary Club of Barnawa,
District 9125, yesterday donated materials to
two orphanage homes in Chikun Local
Government area of Kaduna State.
Presenting the items separately to the
proprietors of Shelter in Christ
Orphanage Home, Sabo Tasha and
Missionary Sisters, president of the club,
Dr. Emma Nosiri, said the gesture was aimed at
improving the welfare of the motherless babies.
"We thought it wise that children in other schools
have parents and their parents take them out on
Children's Day. Besides, some schools organise
party for their pupils on special day like this; that is
why we feel it is important to put smile on the faces
of children in orphanage homes in Kaduna," he
said.
Nosiri expressed worry over the prevalent poverty
in the country, and urged wealthy individuals to
assist the orphans even as he promised that the
club would continue to support the orphans within
available resources.
