Plateau State Commissioner of Police, Mr.
Chris Olakpe, has said that his command has
recovered various brands of cars worth over
N15 million.
He said that about 29 suspects were also
apprehended for various crimes in different parts of the state, among whom was a fake army officer.
Addressing newsmen in Jos on Tuesday on the breakthrough his men had had over the last few months, the commissioner said that among the cars recovered were Toyota and Honda brand of cars.
Olakpe said various types of weapons, including AK 47 rifles, AK magazines, locally-made pistols, grenade, live ammunitions, cartridges and so on were recovered from the suspects
The fake army officer, who gave his name as
Chijioke Oboh, said the uniform was given to him by an army officer, who is now late. He said that he had never used the uniform for any ulterior motive, adding that his arrest was unfortunate .
Addressing newsmen after the parade of the
suspects, Olakpe said that the suspects were
arrested with the assistance of some members of the public who were able to give the police some useful information.
