The literary icon, born Albert Chinualumogu
Achebe died in Boston, Massachusetts, USA on
March 21, 2013, at the ripe old age of 82.
Prof. Achebe's body arrived in a casket draped in the national colours of Green-White-Green and was received at the airport by government officials led by the Secretary to the Federal Government, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim.
His coffin was then wheeled first to a church
service which held at the airport before
proceeding to the Federal Capital Territory,
Abuja.
