Oyo Governor sued over non-conduct of council elections

Okay, this does not happen everyday.
Local council elections still haven't taken place in Oyo since the inauguration of Governor Abiola Ajimobi's administration in 2011.

Alhaji Rafiu Bolatito is mad about it, and he's
suing the Governor.
The law suit was filed by Akinyemi's counsel, Mr. Biodun Abdul-Raheem, at the High Court is dated May 7th of this year and is supported with a 15-paragraph affidavit deposed to by Akinyemi.

In the affidavit, Akinyemi claims to have political ambition to contest 'as a candidate for the post of Chairman, Oluyole Local Council, one of the local councils in Oyo', which he says is being threatened by continued renewal of the tenure of
its caretaker committee every six months.
In the originating summons, the plaintiff asks
the court to interprete whether "having regards to the clear provisions of Sections 7 (1) of the Constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended), which guarantees the system of local councils by democratically-elected officers,
it permits the appointment or selection of
caretaker or transitional committee or renewal of terms of office of the appointment or selection of caretaker or transitional committee to run the affairs of a local council.

Akinyemi also wants the court to grant him a
perpetual injunction 'restraining the defendants by themselves, their agents and assigns from appointment or renewal/extension of appointment or tenure of caretaker or transitional committee or any unelected person or persons by whatever name or description to run the affairs of local councils in Oyo."

Such legal language, and drama. Testy days lie ahead in the Pacesetter state.
