5 Suspects Nabbed With Weapons In Taraba.

The Taraba State Police Command yesterday
paraded five suspects allegedly nabbed with
weapons along Mutum-Biyu road while traveling
to crisis-torn Wukari town.
The suspects include Joshua Umaru, of Magami
Ward Jalingo; Timothy Jualang, Abubakar
Alhassan, Eli Lawrence, all of Maitunku Balanga
Council of Gombe State and Maxwell Kefas of
Lamurde Council of Adamawa State.
Narrating how they were caught, the Police
Commissioner, Jibril O. Adeniji, said a
detachment of policemen stopped one Joshua
Umar while driving in a Honda Accord with
registration number AA 698 NGL on May 7 at
about 1500 hours.
He said during a search on the vehicle, one AK
47 rifle, one locally made single barrel gun, one
revolver pistol and one knife were recovered
from him.
The police boss said Umaru confessed to have
sold one AK47 and one G3 rifles to one Timothy
Jualang and also sold another AK47 to one
Abubakar Alhassan both of Maitunku village of
Gombe State.
Timothy Jualang in his statement to the Police
confessed to have paid Joshua Umaru N63,000
for one AK47 and G3, while Abubakar Alhassan
said he bought an AK47 at the cost of N350,000
from the said Umaru.
